People, not elites

A regular guy from Ormond Beach

I’m Michael Gist — a former Marine, teacher, and lifelong resident of Ormond Beach. My family chose this community for over 100 years. My grandmother, Bernice Anderson Gist, could have stayed in Long Island comfort. She came home.

I am not running for a party. I am not running for elites. I am running to represent you — and to conserve FREEDOM.

About Michael

Signature policy

Freedom Accounts Act of 2027

$80 trillion in covered social spending since World War II. Too many Americans still struggle. Bureaucrats and NGOs got paid. Freedom Accounts turns ineffective spending into investments you own. Everyone gets an account. No opt-out. No blend. Social Security enrollment ends December 31, 2027. If you are already enrolled, you keep it — you are among the last. January 2028 it is Freedom Accounts only. The phase-out starts 20 years later and ends with the last person who enrolled.

01

Investments, not spending

Congress still authorizes the same amounts it has spent on covered social programs. Instead of routing that money through bureaucracies and NGOs, it is invested into personal Freedom Accounts. Every citizen and lawful resident gets one. No opt-out.

02

You decide what to use

You pay for education, healthcare, utilities, a primary home, legal defense, and donations to causes you choose. What you do not use stays invested and compounds. Unused agency money at fiscal year-end also flows into accounts.

03

A public Trust, not a slush fund

The Treasury Secretary chairs the Trust. States run day-to-day enrollment. Congress creates the structure but cannot raid the capital. A 5% management fee is split between Treasury and the States.

04

Own it. Pass it on.

Everyone gets an account — no opt-out, no blend. Restricted uses before 62. At 62 you receive what remains. Accounts are inheritable, so the next generation starts with capital, not debt.

Policy pillars

FIN. English. Year-round school. Freedom Courts.

Who is in

FIN — citizens and lawful residents

Freedom Identification Number. Eligibility is citizens and lawful residents only. Recertification every decade. Recertification can be used for the Census so only eligible people receive benefits. Own your future.

Education

Year-round school · English · dollars follow the student

Families pay for K–college from Freedom Accounts. If a district is failing, parents can move those dollars under state law. English is the common language of opportunity. Incentives include higher teacher pay, with a goal of $90,000 a year for year-round school.

Retirement

Everyone gets an account

No opt-out. No blend. Every citizen and lawful resident gets a Freedom Account. Social Security enrollment ends December 31, 2027 — whoever is already enrolled is the last person in, and they keep it. No new enrollments. January 2028 it is Freedom Accounts only. The phase-out starts 20 years later, January 2048, and finishes with the last person who enrolled. At 62, you receive what remains.

Healthcare

You pay. You choose.

Healthcare is paid from your Freedom Account. Remaining balances stay invested. The point is ownership and choice — not another layer of agencies.
